Do you need a laptop or a desktop?
by on Sep.10, 2009, under Uncategorized
It’s everyone’s dream to buy things at affordable prices whenever the opportunity presents itself. Anyone that needs a laptop but has little money can get lots of cheap laptops that function as good as the expensive ones. Gone are the days of having to physically go from store to store to find affordable laptops, thanks to the Internet.
The beauty of the Internet nonetheless, it’s not a “bed of roses” when it comes to buying stuff online. The following are some important points that should aid you in your search for cheap laptops.
Many people go straight off and start using the “online auctions” like eBay.com, to get the best and most affordable laptops. Because it’s difficult to instantly know the credibility of an online auction seller, take time to ensure the one you buy from is credible; whether an eBay.com seller or not.
There’s much more to the laptop than just the portability and beautiful appearance; take your time to find out if the RAM is high and if the disk space is big enough or not.
Find out from those who have bought such in the past to know if you are getting yours at a good bargain or not. Without a warranty being presented for a refurbished laptop, I usually suspect something fishy is going on.
A laptop computer can be a great investment for anyone. They are great for kids in school all the way to business men on the go. They can help you stay connected anywhere you are. With a laptop you can take advantage of the many new hotspots that have been poping up and the places that offer free wifi.
It pays to compare prices before ending up on a sale, cheap laptops or not.

Small Gadget Yes, Plenty Of Use

My company is related to computer designing and programming and I am John: the owner and manager. So what we are doing mostly are software designing. The contracts we are getting are high end kind of. To give a good example would be the one we did for the city: a surveillance software. Twelve months of hard work was necessarily to finish it. And so many hours including the overtime. The current contracts we are getting are not as important though.
I am supervising five people. All of them top quality programmers. Our projects are good for Mac, Windows stuff and even Linux. I am also hiring part-time students, two of them, to work the weekends. Also I do give them all the extra work to be done in the evenings. The current contract I have is for an interesting website portal. The client is looking for a top-notch product with lots of possibilities. From the beginning, the customer asked us for many changes so far. That customer knows what he wants.
My company only uses high end equipments including the printers and office tools. In order to keep ourselves updated on the tasks and schedule, I gave all the programmers a HP iPAQ 4155 Pocket. This small gadget is incredible. Communication outside the workplace works great with it. I simply need my programmers to be kept up to date almost seven days a week. I cannot afford to have a sick employee and leave the others without the right information about the project.
It did happen last year. My main programmer had to stay home for a whole two weeks. We were simply too tight on the schedule to make everything up to date. Thankfully, the employee was able to give proper guidances. Such thing rarely happens. Everything is very well documented. That day, we simply had no time to check back everything. The customer was waiting and we were sweating. Since then I made sure everyone is up to date about the project and all the details are clearly understood.
My software company was founded 5 years ago. It started up as a small business and, with our good products, we went working on bigger projects. Since then we are getting regular orders from past clients. An important part of my job is to keep them updated about everything related to their project. My business is located downtown city. It is very close to the main business area. My office is very well located and it is nice to work here. I simply enjoy this company !
